Is uplighting really easy to setup?
Setting uplight rentals is super easy. First off, you receive the up lights prior to your event date by a few days. Next, you don’t have to return the up lighting until the next business day. Therefore, you have plenty of time to set up and tear down the lights.
We find that individuals who are renting lights for the first time, take about 15-30 minutes when renting between 12 – 18 uplights.
Timeline of day of event example:
Uplight rentals arrive on Thursday (2 days before Saturday "THE EVENT")
Reception halls usually open from 10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for you to decorate.
Dependable friend sets up the uplight rentals.
Can uplight rentals become hot and burn individuals?
This is a common question, but luckily Summit City Rental uplighting rentals use an LED or lighting emitting diode. That means these uplight rentals never become hot because they do not have a bulb inside them. If you don't believe us? Go to a local best buy and feel how hot/warm an LED t.v. becomes. This has 100's more LED's then we have, but you will know our uplight rentals will not become hot.
Commonly, accent lighting used to be a halogen bulb with a gel to receive the color desired. Lucky for our new technology, we don’t have to use these halogen lights anymore.
Do you rent indoor or outdoor lights?
These lights are for indoor use only. They are not weather-proof. If they get wet that is a major electrical fire hazard. PLEASE DO NOT USE OUTSIDE. Tents are okay as long as it is completely covered and the lights are kept totally dry.
How many lights should I rent?
For best results, space each light approximately 6-12 feet away from each other. The closer you put them, the more of an even wash of color you will get. Some people rent just a few to highlight certain areas of a room. Other people want to light a whole room and will rent 20-30. All depends on the look you want to create. What length power cable is provided? Will I need any additional cords?
5 foot power cables are included with each light or you can upgrade to 10 foot and dmx cables. As long as you are spacing your lights less than 5-10 feet away from each other (or 5-10 feet from an electrical outlet), then you will not need any additional cords.
I am a decorator (wedding planner, party planner, venue manager, florist, DJ, etc) and I want to sell this service to my clients. Can I rent the lights from you?
OF COURSE! This is a great way to add an additional revenue stream to an existing event business without a large initial upfront investment. What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel at any time 10 business days before the lights are actually shipped to you. The 50% reservation fee is non-refundable. To cancel an email needs to be sent confirming the cancellation.
What happens if a light is lost or damaged?
A credit card number is required for all orders. Your credit card will be charged to cover the replacement cost of the missing/damaged equipment. The replacement cost of a light is $80. Uplights damaged mean they are broken and not functioning. Shipping can cause the lens of the uplight rentals to crack and are aware of this. Do not worry about lens cracking.
When should I reserve the light rentals?
As soon as you decide you would like to rent uplighting for your event. Availability is limited, but you can reserve your date as far in advance as you like with a 50% deposit. We only charge 50% of your rental order when you submit the rental agreement. We charge the remaining balance 21 days before we ship the actual lights. Please note, the 50% is a non-refundable reservation fee.
What colors are included?
We love the lights that we rent because there are 7 built-in colors that are super easy to select. You can also customize the colors by changing the intensity of the Red, Green, and Blue LED. We are currently working on a color chart for you. This allows 100’s of 100’s colors to choose from.
Are any other colors available?
In addition to the built-in colors, you can also enter in specific RGB values to get the precise color you're looking for. More information about setting custom colors including a video to show you how
What Specific LED light will be sent?
We currently rent the Chauvet Slim Par 56 LED light.
How easy are they to set-up?
Very easy. (Open box, set them up, plug them in, and set your color)
